Privacy

What ratemeoutof10.app does with your photos, your account and your data, in plain words.

Updated 23 October 2026

Your photos

To rate a photo, the app first shrinks it on your device and removes its metadata, such as where it was taken. It then goes to our server, which runs on Cloudflare, and on to TypeSafe, the maker of Jev, the AI model that grades it. We don't store the photo. We keep a fingerprint of it (a hash) with its grade for 30 days, so the same photo always gets the same grade.

Your slabs, the graded cards with their photos for sharing again, are saved in your browser on this device, not on our server. Deleting a slab removes it from the device.

Share links and boards

A share link keeps your grade, the name and photo title you give it, and the photo only if you include it: as it is, or with Blur face or Blur all, only a blurred copy made on our server. A link lasts 7 days, or until you delete it.

Every link is also a challenge board. Joining one adds your score, grade and the name you choose, and your photo only if you choose to show it, as a small crop. Entries go after 8 days, you can remove yours at any time, and deleting a link deletes its board.

Accounts

You can rate 3 photos without signing in. To rate more and keep a lasting record, you sign in with Google, and Google tells us your Google account ID, email address, name and profile picture.

While you're signed in, we keep your ratings and the challenges you make. A rating is kept as its grade: the score, subgrades, comment, tip and date, never the photo. A challenge is kept with its link, name and title, and with its board's numbers once the room closes: how many joined, how many beat you and the best score. Ratings saved on your device are added when you sign in. We also count your ratings each day, up to 100.

All of it is kept until you delete your account, which you can do in the app: tap your picture at the top, then Delete account and records. That removes the account and everything kept with it. Share links you've already sent keep working until they expire.

Cookies

We use cookies only to run the app:

  • rmo_anon counts the free ratings on this device, for about 400 days. Our server keeps the count, along with a daily count for each network address, stored as a salted hash, so clearing cookies doesn't start it again.
  • rmo_session keeps you signed in until 180 days after you last use the app. We store only a hash of it.
  • ratemeoutof10_locale remembers the language you chose.

Analytics

We count taps and steps in the app ourselves, to improve it: which buttons are used, scores and grades, how long things take, the kind of device, system and browser, the page you came from, the time zone, and the rough location Cloudflare sees for each visit, such as the country and city. A visit is stored under a random id and a visitor id made from a salted hash of your network address and browser, which changes every day. Analytics use no cookies or browser storage, and never your photo.

Who handles your data

Cloudflare hosts the app and stores its data. TypeSafe grades photos. Google handles sign-in, and ads when they're shown.

Adults only

ratemeoutof10.app is for people 18 and over, and photos where someone looks under 18 aren't rated.
